The PhD Educational Award at Heidelberg University in Defining Innate Immune Checkpoints Controlling Natural Killer is now available to all interest applicants.
In this project, the PhD candidate will investigate NK cell receptor pathways in response to melanoma cells. Within RTG2099 structured graduate education and lab visits with our project partners at Kings College in London will be offered.
The PhD candidate will apply an immune-oncology CRISPR/Cas9-based screening approach using primary NK cells and melanoma cells and other tumor cells and will validate already existing candidates for their anti-tumor activity using in vitro and in vivo methods.

Selection Criteria PhD Educational Award:
- The candidate is expected to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in cellular and molecular biology and/or immunology. Hands-on experience in molecular genetics and interest in bioinformatics data analysis is a plus.
- The candidate should be driven by self-motivation, should share a vivid passion for scientific problems, and should acknowledge interdisciplinary collaborative research in order to successfully master this doctoral study program.
