Hurry! Apply for the 2022/23 Rutherford Scholars Study Grants in Canada at the University of Alberta. The Application is open to students who wish to commence an undergraduate degree course work at the University.
This scholarship was named in honour of Alexander Rutherford, who had the distinction of being Alberta’s first Premier and Minister of Education. He was known for his strong support of public education, particularly the University of Alberta and his active involvement in community affairs.
2022/23 Rutherford Scholars Study Grants in Canada Study Value:
Successful applicants will receive the award grants worth $2,500 each for the 2022/23 academic session.
Application Criteria:
The top ten students, as determined on the first writing of Diploma Examinations, are recognized as Rutherford Scholars.
2022/23 Rutherford Scholars Study Grants in Canada Application Process:
Recipients are selected from applications for an Alexander Rutherford Scholarship. A separate application is not required.

Selection Procedures:
Candidates are picked based on the first writing of Diploma Examinations from qualifying subjects. Qualifying subjects are:
One of:
- English Language Arts 30-1, 30-2, or
- Français 30-1
AND
- Social Studies 30-1 or 30-2
Plus any three other subjects:
- Mathematics 30-1, or 30-2
- French Language Arts 10-1
- Biology 30
- Chemistry 30
- Physics 30
- Science 30
