How To Apply
To apply for the Fulbright scholarship 2023, please complete the steps listed below in order:
1. Submit an application online
Individuals must gather a range of resources to submit with their Fulbright application for the USEFP to evaluate their eligibility. Your application must be accompanied by all required documentation
2. Compile college transcripts and certificates
All transcripts and diplomas from a 4-year undergraduate program or one that is comparable; comparable degrees include ACCA or foreign 3-year bachelor’s degrees. Transcripts and an MPhil or MS degree are required for Doctoral applicants. If you’re in your last year of undergraduate study and want to graduate by December of this year, you may also apply. The USEFP considers all aspects of your transcripts, not just your GPA.
They evaluate your educational background, the courses you took, and how well you performed in each subject. They also take into consideration the fact that various colleges use various grading systems. Although there is no required GPA for applicants, the majority of Fulbright recipients have excellent academic records. undergraduate coursework is only one aspect.
3. Take the TOFEL and GRE General Test.
You may include either your provisional GRE score from the exam day or if you have already received your official result, that score in your application. Each applicant must use code 9388 to ask ETS to provide an official score report directly to USEFP. At the time of application, GRE general (international) exam results are necessary. A good GRE score is 315 or higher for engineering and science, and 310 or higher for all other areas. No GRE subject test is necessary.
For all the verbal and quantitative portions of the GRE, a score of 138 is necessary to be considered for the Fulbright. However, most candidates who are approved have GRE scores that are in the top percentiles. If you take the GRE more than once, you can only disclose your best result since Fulbright will only consider it. At the time of application submission, the TOEFL is NOT necessary. If you are invited for an interview, you must take the TOEFL exam. IELTS is not recognized.
4. Make two essays ready
The Fulbright application requires you to submit two essays. Each essay has to be 800 words or less and should be completed in the area allotted on the application form. Write simply and clearly in your essays so that the Fulbright panel, which is unfamiliar with your environment, may better comprehend you. You must develop a marketing plan for yourself before you begin writing the essays. It usually takes successful candidates 4-6 weeks to write and revise their essays.
5. A minimum of three letters of recommendation.
By the application deadline, you must provide three recommendations with your application. Three academic reference letters are acceptable, as are two academic and one professional or two professional and two academic. In other words, you must need one academic reference letter. Your referees must complete the reference forms included in the application packet, sign them, stamp them, and then seal the envelope with tape. An online form will be delivered to your referees through email once you’ve submitted your application online.
6. Organize your academic resume
The area provided on the application form should be filled up with a most recent and current résumé.
7. Submit Online Form
Application fees for the Fulbright program are not required. Online applications are required.
8. Interview
You could receive an invitation to a panel interview once your written application has been submitted and approved. By mid-September, judgments about interviews are made, and interviews are held in October. If USEFP does not contact you by October, it is assumed that you have not been chosen. While not a guarantee of admission, the interview is a good indicator of selection. An interview panel of four persons conducts 15 to 30-minute interviews. It is not required that you have taken the TOEFL exam by the interview date, but you must have your TOEFL registration slip with you on the day of the interview.
